Change is in the Air
Change is in the air for the Naptown Roller Girls! At our March 22 bout, we’ll be welcoming in J Roller as our new Tornado Sirens coach. Mr. Whip served us well, and we will always be grateful to him for all he taught us about building strength, skill, and derby smarts. Please join us in supporting him as he moves on to pursue his other interests-writing and music. But make sure you stop by after the bout and say hello to J Roller, a skater herself (and former Tornado Siren!) who has been working us to the bone in preparation for our next bout. We hope we can do her-and Mr. Whip-proud.
Also, this just in: Were you at the Feb. 9 bout and wondering just where in the heck all of our great fans came from? We were, too! But arrive in droves they did-to the tune of more than 4,000 people. Because of that, we instantly began looking into booking larger venues for our events. We met with organizers at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and discussed all the possibilities, but due to conflicting schedules and already-signed contracts, it looks like we’ll be playing out the rest of our second home season in the Toyota Blue Ribbon Pavilion-which isn’t a bad thing; we love the Blue Ribbon Pavilion! It just means for the remainder of the season, we’ll be putting a cap on the amount of people we let in the door to ensure everyone who comes to our bouts stays safe, happy, and can see the game. For our third season, we’ll plan on moving into a larger venue to accommodate all of our fans. What this means for you now: Buy your tickets early for the remainder of our second season! We can’t wait to see you in the stands! Thank you for your ever-growing support!
