Fresh Meat Wanted
NRG will be holding workshops at Southland Skate Center throughout the months of July and August. The workshops are designed to prepare skaters of all skill levels for tryouts in August. They will focus on basic skating skills, derby rules, and physical fitness. If you are a female skater ages 18 and over and are interested in attending, we will be holding an informational meeting on July 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Southland Skate Center, 6611 Bluff Rd. For more information on workshops or tryouts, please contact us at freshmeatATnaptownrollergirls.com.
You’ll want to be prepared for those workshops because: The fans asked for more roller derby-we’re going to give them more roller derby! For the 2009 season, NRG plans to create a second Junior Varsity team of skaters that will compete against some of the newer leagues popping up all over the Midwest. This team will hold bouts separate from our already-competing WFTDA-ranked Tornado Sirens team. Stay tuned for more information on this new batch of skaters.
Please have all of you gear (pads and mouth guards, skates may be rented for $3) before you come to skate! No gear – no skate!
July workshop dates: 9,14,21,28,30 from 7-9pm.
and
August 4,6,11,13,18 from 7-9pm
Tryouts Aug. 20th from 7-9pm with the possibility of Aug. 18th if more time is needed.

If you are interested in attending workshops or tryouts this summer, please contact us at freshmeatATnaptownrollergirls.com. We can’t wait to hear from you!
