Naptown Roller Girls are excited to help assist Indy Reads for the April Charity. Indy Reads believes that everyone should have an opportunity to learn to read. Their mission is to improve the literacy skills of adults in Central Indiana who read or write at or below the sixth grade level. Unfortunately, 1 in 5 adults in our community fit this description, but their goal is to make Indianapolis 100% literate. They are the only organization in Indianapolis, accredited by ProLiteracy Worldwide, which uses volunteers to provide basic literacy tutoring to illiterate and semi-literate adults and they are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join their team of tutors. Find out how you can get involved at www.indyreads.org.
In addition we participated in these charity walks, runs, raffles, gave tickets to, etc.: Starfish Initiative, Indiana Youth Group, Indiana Blood Center, Adult Developmental Disabilities, American Diabetes Association, Indianapolis Vision Walk, America Remembers, Zoe’s Bone Marrow, Damien Center Grand Masquerade Ball, EmberWood Center, Little Red Door Society, Strides against breast cancer, The Church Within, Hemophilia of Indiana, Inc.
Also, from our awesome sponsor PDA: A huge thanks to all of the Naptown Roller Girls fans that purchased a limited edition t-shirt during our December bout. It was a huge success and PDA is proud to be able to donate $500.00 to WRTV’s toy drive, giving local Indianapolis kids in need toys for Christmas. A special thanks to the Naptown Roller Girls for collaborating with us on this special charity shirt. You Guys Rock!
