Sales in the textile industry.

What is the meaning behind your name?
El Conquistador is one of my favorite characters from a skit on Bob & Tom, and I thought it would stir some local fan fare and maybe bring some Spanish flare to our derby world.

Favorite quote?
Hmmm – not a quote but I knocked Shady down during a scrimmage (more like caught her off guard) and knew she was coming after me… that inspires me to skate hard!

Were you a troublemaker as a kid? How about now?
Not as a kid. Now, I’m adventurous but not a troublemaker. My dad says it’s only because I never get caught. He might be on to me, so shhhhhhh.

What/who inspires you?
Strong, bold women! All my derby sisters—such an amazing group of individuals! Before this it was my mom — successful businesswoman, mom, wife, daughter, and the best at making me tea and toast when I didn’t feel well.

What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the world of derby?
Be prepared to work hard on and off the track with integrity at all times.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to make it in the real world?
Be careful of your own expectations. Just because something isn’t how you expected it to be does not mean it’s such a bad thing. Be open to what is in front of you — it’s happening for a reason.
