What was your first car?
Well, the car doesn’t matter as much as the stripe of duct tape that was used to tape together the cracked roof. It had duct tape the entire length of it. Sweet.

I’m an editor.

Frankie, my feline friend

What do you like to do outside of derby?
Everything. And sometimes anything. It depends on my mood, but over the years I’ve often been deemed “The Instigator.” Oh yeah….

What inspires you?
Lately, I just want to surround myself with people who do things … whether you race cars, write great books, make music, plant gardens, or just collect really cool junk … show me your passion, and you’ll have me inspired. Teach me something new, and you’ll have a friend for life.

What is the meaning behind your derby name?
Loretta Lynn + Tourette’s Syndrome = awesome derby name. I love old country music. I cuss like a sailor. It works.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to make it in the real world?
Believe in yourself. It’s a creed I forget—and have to remind myself of—on the regular.

What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the world of derby?
Prepare to hit someone. And prepare to push yourself past your limits. If you do not prepare for this, and accept it, you will not make it in this sport.
